| 전라북도 무주군 덕유산국립공원 내에 위치한 무주리조트는 1990년 스키장과 콘도미니엄이 준공되어 1차 개장되었다. 초기개장 이후 단지 내 경관과 시각적 질에 관한 많은 문제점이 노출되었다. 이를 극복하고 최고 수준의 리조트단지 조성을 위한 Revised Master Plan을 수립하였다. 미국의 ‘The SWA Group’과 공동으로 수립한 이 계획에는 ‘문화’의 개념을 도입함으로써 리조트의 고급화 추구, 계절성 극복을 위한 다양한 시설과 프로그램을 제공하는 무주 리조트의 종합적인 비전을 제시하였다.
국내 최고를 지향하는 리조트 단지 조성을 위해 조경계획의 기본이념은 ‘자연과의 만남•When Man Meets Nature’으로 설정하였다. 천혜의 자연환경을 지닌 덕유산국립공원 내에 위치한 리조트로써 ‘자연’과 ‘문화’가 공존하는 휴양지가 되도록 하였다.
이를 위해 자연자원의 효율적인 활용, 인공요소와 자연요소의 조화를 통한 여가공간이 되도록 계획하였다. 또한 항상 변화하는 트렌드를 고려하여, 추월 당하기 쉬운 ‘시설지향적 개발’을 지양하고 지역성과 경관적 특성에 근거한 ‘자원지향적 개발’이 되도록 하였다.
이러한 계획방향을 통해 스키장 위주의 계절성을 극복하고 다양하고 독창적인 프로그램으로 빌리지센터, 워터가든, 야외음악당, 계곡, 가족 레크리에이션장, 월풀 등 4계절휴양지 조성을 위한 다양한 안이 제시되었다.
Muju Resort, located in Deogyusan National Park in Muju-gun Jeollabuk-do, and it opened in 1989 with the completion of ski slopes and condominiums. Since its opening, many problems were found in the scenes and visual quality of the resort. To tackle these problems and to create a world class resort, a revised master plan was made together with SWA Group of the U.S, and under this plan, we suggested a comprehensive vision by introducing the concept of 'culture' to pursue a sense of advancement and providing different types of facilities and programs.
The basic concept of landscape architecture in creating the best resort in the country was "When Man Meets Nature." Considering that the resort was located inside Deogyusan National Park, we tried to create a resort where both nature and culture exist. To do so, we planned for a leisure space through efficient use of natural resources and harmonious merger of natural and artificial factors.
Also, in the face of ever-changing trends, we refused "facility oriented planning" that can easily be overtaken by others and pursued for "resources oriented planning" based on locational characteristics and scenery.
Through such planning direction, a variety of suggestions were made to create an all year around resort that overcomes seasonal issues of a ski resort and has diverse kinds of unique programs. |
